We use the information we collect for legitimate business purposes, including to operate, maintain, and improve our Services, fulfill your orders, communicate with you, personalize your experience, and comply with legal obligations.

Providing Products and Services. We use your information to process transactions, fulfill orders, provide customer support, personalize products, administer accounts, and communicate with you about your purchases.

This information allows us to make our Services more relevant, interesting, and responsive to your interests.

We may use your information to send you updates, newsletters, promotional materials, product recommendations, surveys, and other communications that may be of interest to you. You may opt out of marketing communications at any time using the unsubscribe link provided in emails or by contacting us.

We may also remind you about items left in your shopping cart or notify you about changes to our Services or policies.

This may include displaying advertisements based on your activity across websites and online services over time.

These third parties may use cookies, mobile identifiers, and similar technologies to deliver advertising and measure effectiveness. For more information about these technologies and your choices, please see the Cookies section below.

If your information is no longer needed and we are not required to retain it for legal, regulatory, accounting, or legitimate business purposes, we will delete it or depersonalize it so that it can no longer be associated with you.

The criteria we use to determine retention periods include the nature of the information, the purpose for which it was collected, applicable legal requirements, and operational needs.

3. How and When We Share Your Information

We may share your Personal Information with third parties as described below and as otherwise permitted by law.

Service Providers and Technology Partners. We share Personal Information with third-party companies and individuals that provide services on our behalf and process information according to our instructions and in compliance with this Privacy Policy. These may include website hosting providers, payment processors, order fulfillment partners, customer support vendors, analytics providers, marketing and advertising partners, and other technology service providers.

For example, we share shipping information with printers and fulfillment partners to process and deliver your orders. We share payment information with our payment processing provider (such as Braintree, a PayPal company) to process transactions. Payment information is transmitted directly to the payment processor and is not stored on our servers.

Payments are processed by our third-party provider Braintree (a PayPal company). We do not store full credit card numbers on our servers. Braintree is a validated Level 1 PCI DSS compliant service. For more information regarding the security of your personal information related to payment processing, please visit https://www.braintreepayments.com/features/data-security.

We also work with analytics and advertising partners, including but not limited to Meta and Google, to measure performance, analyze usage, and deliver targeted advertising.

Our printers and fulfillment partners retain product and shipping information for up to 30 days to process and ship orders, after which they delete such information unless longer retention is required by law.

Use of YouTube API Services. Our Services use YouTube API Services to validate YouTube URLs and retrieve limited video metadata, including video titles, descriptions, and thumbnail images, for display on product pages. Video playback occurs through standard embedded YouTube players.

When you interact with YouTube content on our Services, YouTube and Google may collect information in accordance with their own terms and policies. For more information, please review the YouTube Terms of Service at https://www.youtube.com/t/terms and the Google Privacy Policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy.

We do not access or store your YouTube account credentials. We only retrieve publicly available video metadata necessary to display embedded content.

Advertising and Analytics Partners. We may allow third-party analytics and advertising providers to collect information through cookies, pixels, mobile identifiers, and similar technologies on our Services. These providers may combine information collected on our Services with information collected from other websites and applications to deliver targeted advertising and measure the effectiveness of campaigns.

These relationships may be considered “sharing” or “selling” under certain privacy laws, as described in applicable state-specific sections of this Privacy Policy.

Affiliates and Subsidiaries. We may share Personal Information with our affiliates and wholly owned subsidiaries for purposes consistent with this Privacy Policy.

Business Transfers. In the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, sale of assets, bankruptcy, or similar transaction, Personal Information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

Legal Compliance and Protection. We may disclose Personal Information if we believe it is necessary to comply with applicable law, respond to legal process, enforce our agreements, protect our rights or property, prevent fraud, ensure the security of our Services, or protect the safety of our users or others.

4. Cookies, Mobile IDs, and Similar Technologies

We use cookies, web beacons, mobile analytics tools, advertising IDs, and similar technologies to operate our Services and collect information such as usage data, identifiers, and device information.

What Are Cookies and Similar Technologies? Cookies are small text files placed by a website and stored by your browser on your device. A cookie can later be read when your browser connects to a web server in the same domain that placed the cookie. The text in a cookie may uniquely identify your device and may contain additional information, allowing us to recognize your browser over time and collect information such as browser type, time spent on the Services, pages visited, language preferences, and other traffic data.

Pixel tags (also known as web beacons or clear GIFs) may be used to track user activity on the Services and in email communications, measure the effectiveness of marketing campaigns, compile statistics about usage and response rates, and identify similar audiences for marketing purposes.

How We and Our Partners Use These Technologies. We, and our analytics and advertising partners, use cookies and similar technologies in our websites, applications, and online services to collect Personal Information, including the pages you visit, the links you click, usage information, device identifiers, and information about your online activities over time and across different websites or services.

This information is used to store your preferences, enable sign-in functionality, analyze site performance, track interactions, develop inferences, deliver and tailor interest-based advertising, prevent fraud, enhance security, personalize your experience, and improve the design and functionality of our Services. We may also use cookies to determine which advertisements or offers are most relevant to you and to measure advertising effectiveness.

We and/or our analytics and advertising partners may share information collected or inferred through these technologies with other companies for these purposes.

Analytics Providers. We use analytics providers, including but not limited to Google Analytics, Lytics, Adobe Analytics, and Localytics, which use cookies and similar technologies to collect and analyze information about how users interact with the Services and to report on trends and usage.

These providers may also collect information about your use of other websites and online resources. You can learn more about Google’s practices by visiting www.google.com/policies/privacy/partners/, and you may opt out of Google Analytics by downloading the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on available at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. To opt out of Adobe Analytics, you may implement the opt-out cookies available at https://scode.randomhouse.com/optout.html.

Physical Location. We may collect the physical location of your device using technologies such as IP address, GPS, WiFi signals, or cell tower signals. We may use this information to provide location-based services or content and to enhance marketing effectiveness. In some cases, you may be able to allow or deny location collection through your device settings. If you disable location services, certain features may not function properly.

Advertising Controls. Many advertising partners participate in industry self-regulatory programs that provide mechanisms for opting out of interest-based advertising. You can access these opt-out tools at:

United States:
 http://optout.networkadvertising.org
 http://optout.aboutads.info

Canada:
 https://youradchoices.ca/

Europe:
 http://www.youronlinechoices.com/

These choices apply only to the browser you are using. If you access our Services from multiple devices or browsers, you must make these selections on each device and browser.

Browser Cookie Controls. Most web browsers accept cookies by default. You can modify your browser settings to delete or reject cookies. If you disable cookies, some features of the Services may not function properly.

Mobile Advertising ID Controls. iOS and Android devices provide options to limit tracking or reset advertising identifiers through device settings.

Email Web Beacons. Most email clients allow you to prevent automatic downloading of images, which may disable tracking technologies such as web beacons.

Do Not Track. Some browsers include a “Do Not Track” (DNT) feature that sends a signal indicating you do not wish to be tracked. Because there is no universally accepted standard for interpreting DNT signals, our Services do not currently respond to browser DNT signals. You may use the other controls described above to manage tracking.

Global Privacy Control (GPC). Global Privacy Control (GPC) is a browser setting that signals a user’s preference not to have their Personal Information sold or shared. When we detect a valid GPC signal, we will make reasonable efforts to honor your request consistent with applicable law.

5. Your Choices and Privacy Rights

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have certain rights regarding your Personal Information.

Access, Correction, and Deletion. You may request to access, correct, update, or delete your Personal Information by contacting us as described in the “Contact Us” section below. We will respond to requests in accordance with applicable law.

For your protection, we may need to verify your identity before processing certain requests. In some cases, we may retain information as required by law or for legitimate business purposes, including completing transactions you initiated.

Opt-Out of Sale or Sharing (Where Applicable). Certain privacy laws define “sale” or “sharing” broadly to include certain types of data disclosures for advertising purposes. Where applicable law provides such rights, you may request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your Personal Information by following the instructions provided in the “Cookies, Mobile IDs, and Similar Technologies” section or by contacting us directly.

We honor valid Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as described in the Cookies section.

We will process your requests in accordance with applicable law.

6. Data Retention and Security

Data Retention. We retain Personal Information for only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including providing our Services, completing transactions, maintaining business records, resolving disputes, and complying with legal obligations.

If your Personal Information is no longer needed for the purposes for which it was collected, and we are not required to retain it for legal, regulatory, accounting, fraud prevention, or legitimate business purposes, we will delete it or depersonalize it so that it can no longer be associated with you.

The criteria we use to determine retention periods include the nature of the information, the purpose for which it was collected, applicable statutory or contractual requirements, potential litigation or regulatory investigations, and our legitimate business needs.

Security. We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect Personal Information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.

While we strive to protect your information, no data transmission over the Internet or storage system can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. You transmit information to us at your own risk. If you believe your interaction with us is no longer secure, please contact us immediately using the information provided below.

We may also take steps to investigate and address suspected fraud, security incidents, or violations of our policies. We use industry-standard encryption technologies to protect transactions conducted through our Services. In the unlikely event that fraudulent charges occur as a result of purchases made through our secure server and you are held liable through no fault of your own, Sourcebooks will cover up to $50 of such unauthorized charges, consistent with applicable federal law.

7. Third-Party Services and External Links

Our Services may contain links to third-party websites, applications, or services that are not owned or controlled by Sourcebooks. We are not responsible for the privacy practices, content, or security of those third parties. When you access third-party services, your information is governed by their privacy policies and terms.

Our Services may include integrations with third-party platforms such as social media services (including Meta platforms), analytics providers, advertising partners, and embedded media services such as YouTube. These third parties may independently collect information about your interactions with their content or services, including through cookies, pixels, or similar technologies.

The inclusion of a link or integration does not imply endorsement by Sourcebooks of the third party or its privacy practices. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you access.
