product description

From what we get, we can make a living. What we give, however, makes a life.

Looking for a guaranteed road to happiness? It’s really quite simple…give to others. Make a difference in the lives of others and your own heart will be touched in return. You may think you need lots of extra money to do this, but really all you need is a big heart and a little time. This book is filled with uplifting stories of "giving" from the heart that will inspire you to do the same.

The paradox about giving is how giving gives back. It is like sending a boomerang out into the open air—it comes right back to you.

In fact Alan Lurks surveyed more than 3,000 volunteers of all ages throughout the country and documented the physical and emotional benefits of giving, including a full 50% who reported feeling a “helper’s high” after helping others. Since then, studies have shown that those who give to others experience increased health and happiness, and even reduced mortality rate.

This book makes an excellent thank you gift for volunteers and anyone who you want to recognize for giving to their community.

I would buy this product again and again
I particularly loved the story of the doctor who graduated from John Hopkins University. While making his way to college, he stopped at a house to ask for food. A beautiful young lady answered the door, and he was at a lost for words. She sensed his hunger, and offered him a huge glass of cold milk. When he asked her how much, I am paraphrasing, 'no charge. It is best to give from the heart.' Years later, he saw this same lady at the hospital where he worked as a doctor. Read the story in this beautifully written book, "The Secret to Life is Giving". Very touching!
      Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

      Great, inspiring book!
This book reminded me how giving is so much better than receiving! And how good you feel giving. It also reminded me of the joy we give to others by giving always has a ripple effect. And we never know how many lives we will touch when we give, including our own!
        Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
