John Izzo PhD

JOHN IZZO, PhD, an award-winning writer and author, corporate culture crusader, and global sustainability advocate, has devoted his life and career to facilitating deeper conversations about personal values, work culture, life fulfillment, leadership responsibility, and the true definition of success.

Izzo obtained his bachelor’s in sociology from Hofstra University and completed dual master’s degree programs in theology from McCormick Divinity School and organizational psychology from the University of Chicago. He went on to earn his PhD in organizational communication from Kent State University. Izzo has served on the faculty of three major universities and is the past board chair of the Sierra Club and the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society.

Dr. Izzo has shared platforms around the world with politician, environmentalists, corporate icons, foundation heads, and movie magnates, including Ken Blanchard, Bill Clinton, David Suzuki, Oprah Winfrey, Peter Mansbridge, and Jane Fonda, and he is asked to speak to more than one hundred audiences each year. He has authored and published more than six hundred articles and is the author of four national bestselling books: Second Innocence, Values Shift, Awakening Corporate Soul, and Stepping Up.

Fast Company, CNN, Wisdom Network, Canada AM, ABC World News, Working Woman, Wall Street Journal, McLean’s, and Inc. have featured the research and opinions of John Izzo.

In 2007, the Biography Channel and Dr. Izzo filmed a five-part series called “The Five Things You Must Discover Before You Die.”
